Ideas for Home

Suggested online resources you can use at home:

1.       ABC education website (www.education.abc.net.au): Click on Resources, then English or Maths, then click the F (foundation) for the year level.

2.       ABCya (www.abcya.com): Click on Grade K then click on 123 Numbers or ABC and select a game. Some suggested games include: Fuzzbugs patterns, Blast Off numerical order, Monster Mansion Match Numbers, Number Bubble Count to 100, Counting Fish, ABC and 123 Fridge Magnets, Alphabets Rhyming Words, Alphabets Syllables.

3.       Storyline Online (www.storylineonline.net): Click on any book title and your child can watch and listen to the story being read out loud to them.

4.       Art for Kids Hub YouTube channel: Great follow along tutorials where children are taught, step by step, how to draw simple pictures.

5.       YouTube channels for educational songs: Super Simple Songs, The Learning Station, The Singing Walrus.

6.       Soundwaves Foundation Online (www.soundwavekids.com.au): You login into this website with the code: room613. Please click on Phase 1: Sound Units and look at Consonant Sounds and Vowel Sounds and complete some of the activities.

Here are some suggested activities for the creative time:

1.       Spotify app: Search for nursery rhyme playlists

2.       Play ‘I Spy’ (I spy with my little eye something beginning with m)

3.       Playdough time

4.       Puzzles

5.       Drawing- Art for Kids Hub YouTube channel: Great follow along tutorials where children are taught, step by step, how to draw simple pictures.

6.       Gardening

7.       Cooking

8.       Games (board games, card games etc.  (that require taking turns)

9.       Make up a dance and put on a show for your family

10.   Take part in a scavenger hunt/treasure hunt in the house.

11.   Complete activities for Cosmic Kids (www.cosmickids.com) complete a mindfulness or yoga activity.
