Home Learning Plan Stage 2 - Week 4 due Monday 25^thMay, 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Last week stage 2 had their first day back with routine classroom teachers as part of the phased return to school and it was an overwhelmingly successful day. We highly commend students on the understanding and compassion shown towards each other, as well as the responsible, respectful and resilient behaviour demonstrated throughout the day. Additionally, we would like to thank parents, caregivers and families for their adherence to social distancing protocols when dropping off and collecting students from the school grounds. We understand this poses some changes to the school routine you may have established and appreciate your ongoing flexibility during this time. As we continue to move through the phased return to school we will endeavour to keep our school community updated on changes as promptly as possible, and again we thank you for your understanding and flexibility in this matter. If you have any questions about your child’s return to school, please do not hesitate to contact your classroom teacher.

During this time, we continue to adhere to strict health and hygiene guidelines. These are;

· Regular handwashing before and after playtime and eating time, with frequent use of hand sanitiser throughout the day.

· Increased, rigorous cleaning of all common school areas including toilets, classrooms and playground equipment.

· Class stationary will not be shared during this time and we ask that you please send your child to school with the required stationery for the day.

· Drop off and pick up areas are now monitored by staff and parents and carers are asked to remain outside the school grounds and your child will come to you. Please let them knw what gate you will be waiting for them.

Home learning packs:

This timetable contains only Thursday 21^st and Friday 22^nd May. Students are returning to school and regular class lessons on Monday 25^th May 2020.

Recommended Learning Activities:

Daily Literacy: Comprehension passages will be assigned to your child by their classroom teacher on Study Ladder and a minimum of 1 passage should be completed each day. Your child will also select 1 spelling activity from the provided grid each day to engage with the sound of the week.

Numeracy: Numeracy lessons and quizzes will be assigned to your child by their classroom teacher on Study Ladder.

Movement Breaks and P.E: It is critical for children to move throughout the day and as such 30 minutes each day has been allocated to physical activity. Your child may like to engage in the suggested activity or simply choose their own physical activity to engage in.

Investigation Tasks: Investigation tasks are hands-on learning experiences that embed skills from a range of key learning areas. They are designed to be completed over a few days. Each week your child will be provided with a new investigation to explore and these will be unpacked during class time on Thursday to aid student understanding.

Library: Students will collect their reserved library books each Thursday when they attend school and are required to bring their library bags and any library books at home that need returning. Students may reserve library books online through the ‘Oliver’ borrowing system.
