Queanbeyan Schools as Community Centres (SaCC) is a NSW government interagency program that supports the transition of students to school and the early participation of families into school activities.
The SaCC Program in Queanbeyan assists families with children 0-8 years through a community development approach.
The primary focus of the Queanbeyan SaCC Program is to enhance the early development outcomes of children birth to 8 years through the holistic approach outlined in the Framework. The focus on the early development of children is based on well-established evidence that the first years of a child's life are crucial for setting the foundation for life-long health and learning outcomes.
Parents are encouraged to be connected to their children and their community through attending: Supported Playgroup, Kindy Gym, Transition to School Playgroup, Infant Massage classes and other activities we run.
Other programs successfully implemented to benefit children and families include:
The Book for Boori’s Project (Early Literacy Program) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families with children from 0 to 5 years old.
The Multicultural Playgroup, run in partnership with Queanbeyan Multicultural Centre.
The Queanbeyan Dads’ Group, supported by The Fathering Project.
