Library and Resource Centre

We aim to promote the love of literature and foster the development of information literacy skills in our students, by providing a well resourced collection and an inviting environment for all students to enjoy.

Parents are encouraged to take an active interest in their child’s leisure reading and encourage them to borrow regularly from the library. Students from Kindergarten to Year 4 are required to use a library bag to protect the books.

Our library is open before school from 8.25 to 8.55 for students to  draw, read, use computers and play board games.

The iQSpace is open each day during Lunch 2. This space offers students of all ages imaginative, creative and educational opportunities. Activities include technology challenges, art and craft, STEM challenges, LEGO and movie days.

Books and resources with a parenting and educational focus are available for parents to borrow. They are located on the bookshelf in the foyer of the library. Borrowing is available through the teacher librarian.

We participate in the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge and encourage all students to take part. Students in K-2 are required to read 30 books, including 25 books from the PRC Booklists. All K-2 students will participate in the Challenge at school. Students in Years 3-6 are required to complete the Challenge independently, reading 20 books, 15 must be on the PRC booklists.

The Challenge books in our library are marked with the appropriate level and shelved together. K-2 titles have a Red sticker, 3-4 a Green and 5-6 a Purple one. Booklists can be viewed on the Challenge site.

For details on the book, challenge and news go to NSW Premier's Reading Challenge.
